Today’s WCW on International women’s day, is none other than RIHANNA.

Though we all acknowledge Rihanna as a superstar, fashion icon, sexy songstress and Bajan beauty; there’s so much more to Miss Fenty that makes her truly deserving of our WCW on this day

* Robyn Rihanna Fenty grew up with a father with a drug addiction (resulting in divorced parents), being the eldest of 3 (she has two younger brothers Rorrey + Rajad) she certainly set a good example very early on. Rihanna was in the cadets in high school, went on to win a talent show and won her schools beauty pageant; showing her brothers that you can be more than a product of your environment.
* In 2003 Rihanna initially auditioned for music producer  Evan Rogers in Barbados (whilst he vacationed) with two other girls (one being best friend Melissa) as a girl group. It was Rihanna who captivated Mr Rogers + subsequently moved to the U.S with Rogers + wife to kickstart her career. Fast forward to present time, you will not see Rihanna without seeing Mel; the singer has provided jobs for her pals and kept her closest close rather than abandon them for Hollywood cliques.
* In 2006 Rihanna created her believe foundation, which aims to help terminally ill children. The singer said this “When I was young, I would watch television and see all the children suffering, I always said when I grow up I want to help,” she told People magazine in March 2008 & recently reiterated this sentiment upon receiving her Humanitarian of the year award from Harvard. Rihanna’s also set up another charity the Clara Lionel Foundation, named after her grandparents whom she adores. In light of her grandfathers nickname, i’d say a well deserved “Bravo” is in order for all of her philanthropic work thus far.
We could have these awe inspiring facts ‘pon de replay’ all day but in the way of Rihanna let us be trailblazers with a fire of focus and a light of love and kindness.
Until next time be good to yourselves, kind to others and above all GROW DAILY.
